September 23, 2022
The Barclay at SouthPark was the proud sponsor of the
Alzheimer’s Association Kick Off Event at
Legion Brewing SouthPark on September 20th. Our team had a great time spreading the word of a worthy cause. We are looking forward to all of our upcoming fundraisers and the Memory Walk taking place next month at Truist Field!
Residents at The Barclay enjoyed a presentation from UNC Charlotte professor, Mark West. It was on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Walt Disney Company! This is the first in several presentations of our UNCC Salon Series.
It was a pleasure to have Robin Woodell and Richard Kennell, join us for brunch at The Barclay. They are the owners of Emerald Financial Group. Guests were invited to enjoy this educational seminar to learn more about planning for retirement living. Enjoying a delicious brunch prepared by our food and beverage team was a plus.
Supporting our local farmers is important for numerous reasons. It helps support the local economy, it’s a safer food supply and the produce is fresh and delicious! This weekend, the residents and staff of The Barclay and Briar Creek enjoyed fresh peaches from our local farmers market.
On National Watermelon Day, residents and staff enjoyed watermelon treats. These included freshly cut slices of watermelon , as well as, a refreshing cup of watermelon lemonade. We also learned how beneficial watermelon is for our health. We were blown away by the sight of a yellow watermelon!
We celebrated with a beautiful assortment of cheeses, meats, dried fruits and crackers. The Dining Department prepared a platter for us. The wine chosen for this event was inspired by residents. Their preferences are regions in California and Italy. It was a fun way to celebrate the holiday and to be in touch with friends!
